Frequently Asked Questions

Every child is different – and so is every family’s journey. If you’re exploring Occupational Therapy or looking for the right support, these frequently asked questions are a great place to start.

Occupational Therapy (OT) supports children to participate in everyday life. Things like play, learning, self-care and connecting with others. We focus on helping your child build skills, confidence and independence in ways that feel right for them.

We work with children and families to achieve meaningful goals in everyday life. This may include support with:

  • Fine motor skills (e.g. handwriting)
  • Sensory processing differences
  • Emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Play and social connection
  • Daily routines (e.g. dressing, toileting, sleep)

At Avanti Therapy, we embrace a neuroaffirming approach. This means we recognise and respect neurological differences (such as autism and ADHD) as a natural part of human diversity.

We focus on supporting your child’s strengths, wellbeing and identity.

Our sessions are play-based, engaging and tailored to your child’s goals.

We use evidence-based approaches in a way that feels safe, enjoyable and meaningful – because children learn best through connection and play!
